About This
- HIGH-CALCIUM GRUBS FOR STRONGER EGGSHELLS: Dried black soldier fly larvae carry roughly 75X the calcium of dried mealworms. Calcium is what a laying hen draws on to build shell, and hens in peak lay deplete it fast. Fed a few times a week alongside her regular layer feed, PureGrubs helps support shell strength and skeletal health in laying hens and growing pullets.
- 36–42% CRUDE PROTEIN FOR MOLT AND FEATHER REGROWTH: Feathers are roughly 90% protein, which is why hens stop laying and look ragged through an autumn molt. Each larva delivers 36–42% crude protein and 30–40% fat, supporting feather regrowth when the flock needs it most and providing dense energy through cold months. Suitable for chickens, ducks, geese, turkeys and quail.
- RAISED AND DRIED IN THE USA — TRACEABLE TO THE FARM: PureGrubs larvae are farmed on a plant-based feedstock at American facilities and dried domestically, never rehandled through an import chain. One ingredient on the panel: dried black soldier fly larvae. No additives, no preservatives, no fillers, no grain bulking.
- WHOLE LARVAE, LOW-TEMP DRIED, RESEALABLE POUCH: The most common complaint about dried grubs is a bag of dust and broken pieces. Ours are gently dried at low temperature to hold the larva intact and crisp rather than baked brittle, and they ship in a heavy-gauge resealable pouch that keeps the remainder fresh and the feed room from smelling like a bait shop. Customers report their birds come running at the sound of the bag.
- HOW MUCH TO FEED, AND WHO ELSE EATS THEM: A treat, not a feed replacement — offer about 1–2 tablespoons per bird per day, up to roughly 10% of the daily ration, scattered as scratch, hand-fed for taming, or stirred into wet mash. Also eaten by wild songbirds and bluebirds at the feeder, bearded dragons, turtles, hedgehogs and koi.
